I don’t know what came over me during this shoot but it’s hella weird.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I like wearing wigs and have been wearing them before Kylie Jenner made it cool. This short black one came into my life when I was feeling a little less me and a little more Lydia Deetz . Maybe I wanted to evoke Winona Ryder’s 90’s spirit or cleopatra, I dunno, but I like this look and I like that I can achieve it without actually cutting my hair and dying it black. In fact, this is the main reason why I like to wear wigs, especially for photoshoots. I know there are a TONS of other fashion bloggers out there taking photos, looking like their beautiful natural self and that’s fine for them. For me, I like to play pretend and I like to put a story together (however weird that is) and sometimes that story isn’t about me, it’s about someone else wearing the clothes I bought and guess what, she looks different than I do sometimes. Playing pretend while modelling clothes with wigs is the closest thing to theatre you will ever see me do. Now you know.
So what’s the story behind this? I had this song in my head when I bought these fab pants from Zara and this delicate black lace top from Forever21 and thought up an idea of a girl obsessed with Japanese culture. I wanted it to have a peep-show effect too, someone watching her through a key hole out of curiosity and intrigue. Maybe she keeps her love of Japanese culture a secret. Maybe not.
Enjoy my lovelies.
