Adidas goes Tropical
It’s all shiny and new! Welcome to my new and improved fashion blog! Yay!
Isn’t it funny that I have a fashion blog with hardly any fashion in it? Yeah, I was kind’a confused too and had to take a short break, re-organise, hire a professional and semi start over.
Yeah, you heard me, a professional. Nothing too dirty (get your mind out of the gutter), I just made a bold move and hired a professional photographer to take super-fantastic-awesome-crazy-bold photos of me wearing….stuff. 🙂
It might not be the smart thing to do — obvious blogger rookie mistake — but I did it and I don’t regret it, even if it is costing me a small fortune.
You see, I tried having my friends photograph me in the past and though they weren’t too bad, I was. I was just standing there looking…no…trying to look pretty…trying to look like a fashion blogger like so many out there already and it wasn’t working. If you saw those pictures (and I hope you never do), you’d see an awkward woman, trying too damn hard to ‘fit’ into the fashion blog mold. I looked phoney and needed to break free.
When I found my photographer, I knew we were gonna make magic because she wasn’t interested in taking ‘pretty pictures’ of me but contemporary, weird, outside the box kind of pictures and I loved the idea. I also feel more comfortable posing in these pictures, I like the stories we come up with.
I admit, the photo series below isn’t very contemporary or weird (that’s later) but it was our very first photo shoot together and we were testing the waters.
I’ve been having a hella good time thus far. Every week we take new and interesting photos on a very limited budget. How’s that for a challenge?
Anyway, enough blabbing and being personal, here are a few shots taken with my partner of (fashion) crime. Hope you enjoy the new look and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and follow me on social media for more awesomeness.
